Post Production Procedures "A Script in Progress"

This chart will help to delegate responsibility and help to see where a script is in progress: When a writer submits a script to the Dark Council, this is its course through to being placed on the web. This is given in numerical order.


  1. Writer Submits script for production.
  2. Council
    • 1) Approves script.
    • 2) Assigns a Director.
  3. Director
    • 3) Given the script.
    • 4) Sets production schedule (tentative).
    • 5) Contacts Chris Snyder for a post prodcer to be assigned.
    • 6) Contacts Voice Bank Manager (VBM) to put a call out for auditions.
  4. Voice Bank Manager
    • 7) Puts out an audition call our for production.
    • 8) Sends lines to director.
  5. Producer (if used)
    • 9) Discusses casting with Director.
    • 10) Picks Cast and announces Cast.
    • 11) Sends lines to cast with submission guidelines and deadlines.
    • 12) Retrieves lines from cast and c hecks quality and completeness.
    • 13) Double checks lines (shares with director for approval),
    • 14) All lines and any music that must be in production are sent to post producer.
  6. Post Producer
    • 15) Post producer works his/her magic and completes the project.
    • 16) Sends completed product to producer for approval.
  7. Producer
    • 17) Gives his/her approval.
    • 18) Sends final cut to Director.
  8. Director
    • 19) Sends final approval on production.
    • 20) Sends it back to Producer.
  9. Producer
    • 21) Sends the following to Tom Davis to put up on website and podcast.
      • Final approved cut of Episode.
      • Synopsis of Episode.
      • Credits of Episode.


Please note:

  • If you think that you can work with the list how it's given, you could put your hand in for a position.
  • Please know that sometimes the Director does do everything from writing to producing.
  • The reason for the Directors to have less to do - they are sometimes dealing with more than one series.
