Series Submission Guidelines
From Darker Projects Wiki
Note: This document is the standard and practices of Darker Projects and supercedes all previous documents. Darker Projects provides you with this document to make your submission process as easy, effective and painless as can be done. Failure to adhere to these guidelines can and will result in possible loss of production.
- All Series submissions will begin with a ONE (1) page, typed description sent to the Dark Council and will include the following information:
- Title
- Author
- Number Of Episodes
- Genre (Sci-Fi, Horror, Suspense Drama, Comedy, Drama)
- Number of Regular Charaters (This does not include guest artists)
- A one paragraph essay explaining the series and its goal.
- (Example: Generation 1 is a series targeted to teens and tweens. Young people awaken from stasis to find that the Earth has gone through catastrophic changes. They now must defend themselves and create a new society in a hostile environment with only their wit and the advice of their Guardian Computers)
- Main Character list with Attributions
- (Example: Aaron-15- Hereditary 1st Minister - Strong leader, tender hearted; Rayla- 15 - Earth Scientist - Deputy 1st Minister - Somewhat strong willed)
- Average running time of each episode (Note - Most Darker Projects productions run 20 - 30 minutes long equaling approximately 15 typed pages of script)
- ONE PARAGRAPH from the author/sponsor about WHY this would make a good Darker Projects production.
- The Dark Council will Vet (Study and select) from all series presented. The decision of the Council is final.
- IF a series is selected by the council a single Self Contained PILOT script will be requested. This episode MUST be self contained meaning it may not end with a cliff hanger or a TO BE CONTINUED tag.
- The Pilot script will be produced by Darker Projects and released to the public.
- The audience will vote on the viability of the pilot. The vote of the audience will be weighed by the council in its decision to offer Series status or to leave the pilot as a single one off. The decision of the council will be final.
- Series are launched at two times during a calendar year.
- September - Main series launch
- May - Summer Replacements for poorly received or Slated Summer hiatus programming.
- Note: To be considered for September launch, a pilot MUST be approved and deemed a NEW Series no later than APRIL 1 of that year. Any pilots produced after April 1 will only be considered for Summer Replacement.
- WARNING - Series Pitches will NOT be sent to public Mail lists to engender popular support for a given submission. This WILL cause the submission to be immediately rejected. This is a Production company, not a popularity contest. We FULLY understand your passion for your work, however in order to properly provide your work with the attention and respect it needs, we have established this policy for ALL new submissions.
Thank you for considering Darker Projects for your artistic endeavors. We will treat your creation with the respect it deserves. If you have any comments or concerns about anything that you see here on the Darker Projects Wiki, please contact us.
