After the discovery of a gateway from Federation space to the fringes of the beta quadrant, Starfleet has invested a great deal of resources in exploring this new vast unknown. Now, with the Federation in danger of collapse, and conflicts looming over the horizon, Starfleet has decided to fall back on to the roots of it’s mission: to explore space. The crew of the USS Pioneer has been assigned to uphold the Federation’s values as they venture into what could be on of the greatest great unknowns of the galaxy.
